What is changing

We rephrased the responses to the questions, "How much do you smoke?"

  • “2 packs per a day” now appears as “2 packs per day”
  • “½ pack per a day” now appears as “½ pack per day”
  • “1 pack per a day” now appears as “1 pack per day”
  • “2 packs per a day” now appears as “2 packs per day”
  • “3 or more packs per a day” now appears as “3 or more packs per day”

Why we’re making the change

We’re making this change to ensure that answers for the smoking history questions are grammatically correct.

What will current users of the endpoint need to update in their code

No action needed, unless consumers are improperly depending on specific answer option wording as opposed to using keys.

What will happen if users of the endpoint do not update their code

If consumers are improperly depending on specific answer option wording, as opposed to using keys, smoking history question related code may error out.
