What is changing

  • The MDP Route POST /chart/{patientid}/vitals will have the new input parameter RETURNVITALIDS.
  • This will return the IDs of the newly added vitals, mapped to their vital attribute IDs.
  • The new output is VITALIDS.

Why we’re making the change

We’re making this change to provide users of this endpoint a VitalID for each vital they added from MDP partners, so they can update incorrect vitals posted via API if needed, to prevent the triggering of errant care advice and workflows.

What will current users of the endpoint need to update in their code

If you want to get VITALIDS as an output when you POST vitals, you’ll need to set the new input parameter RETURNVITALIDS.

What will happen if users of the endpoint do not update their code

This is not a breaking change, so nothing will happen if changes are not made.
